TheDr. Comfort Merry Jane Women's Dress Shoe combines the timeless look of a classic Mary Jane flat with the comfort, depth, and supportive construction expected from therapeutic footwear. Designed for women who want an elegant shoe without sacrificing comfort, the Merry Jane works equally well for everyday wear, work, dinners, special occasions, and other settings where a traditional athletic-style orthopedic shoe may not be ideal.
Crafted with a soft, full-grain leather upper, the Merry Jane provides a polished appearance while maintaining the accommodating fit needed by sensitive feet. A Black Lycra® version is also available for women who benefit from a more flexible, stretchable upper.
The classic Mary Jane design features an adjustable contact-closure strap across the instep. This allows the fit to be personalized throughout the day and provides easier on-and-off wear compared with traditional lace-up footwear. The adjustable design can also be helpful when foot volume changes or additional room is needed across the top of the foot.
Designed for Therapeutic Comfort
The Merry Jane incorporates extra width and depth through the toe box and forefoot to provide additional room around the toes. This accommodating design helps minimize unnecessary pressure while also providing added protection against accidental toe stubbing.
Inside the shoe is a removable supportive insole featuring polyurethane support, cushioning from heel to toe, and gel pods positioned in the forefoot and heel. The removable footbed also allows the shoe to accommodate many prescribed or custom orthotics when a different insole is required.
A firm heel counter provides additional rearfoot support and stability, while padding around the heel and tongue helps reduce irritation. These features create a more secure, comfortable fit for extended daily wear.
